July 2019: Anxiety Management Month

By July 3, 2019No Comments

Did you know our pets can suffer from anxiety?

All breeds can suffer from anxiety but it affects each dog differently, just like us. Some common signs of anxiety are aggression, accidents in the house, destructive behavior, panting/ drooling, excessive barking, and pacing/restlessness.

Common causes of anxiety in pets are:

  • Fear
  • Seperation
  • And even age

Untreated anxiety in pets can cause anxiety disorders, which often leads to unfavorable behaviors in our furry friends.

 Doctor’s recommendation:

Does your dog or cat often destroy your stuff or leave you surprises to come home to? They may be sufferring from anxiety. Anxiety symptoms in pets are often misunderstood as behavioral issues. If you think your pet may be suffering from anxiety, give us a call and schedule an appointment to come talk with our doctor! We’ll rule out any possible health concerns that may be causing unfavorable behaviors and discuss the best anxiety management medications and options for your fur baby.
