Did You Know? April is Heartworm Awareness Month!
As we approach warmer weather, we also approach mosquito season! Heartworm disease is only spread through infected mosquitos and all it takes is one to infect your cat or dog. Cats can become infected too but no treatment currently exists. Treatment for dogs can be very hard on them, as well as very expensive for you. Most heartworm prevention can cost less than $10 a month which is very affordable compared to the thousands of dollars that heartworm treatment can cost.. We offer several different heartworm prevention options that we recommend here in the hospital, and would love to help you find the one that is safest for your fur baby and most convienient for your lifestyle.
